Best Overall Pick
My overall pick has to be a Nordgreen watch. I’ve shared them a few times here on BTB before, and have mentioned how perfect a gift they make – both F and I love ours, and we’ll be gifting one to his brother this Christmas (don’t worry, he won’t be reading this!) Whatever gender you’re buying for, or whether you’re not sure they might already own a watch, as I did, there’s something among Nordgreen’s range of beautiful styles for everyone to love. I posted a selection of my own style picks from both the Mens and Womens watches here, for your shopping inspiration.
Their Giving Back Program is a lovely way to simultaneously support a good cause with your purchase too, with a portion of the sale going towards one of three global charities of your choice. Nordgreen do this all year round, but it seems particularly pertinent at Christmas, and maybe even more so this Christmas.
And what’s even better at the moment is that I’ve handily posted this gift guide with a couple of days to spare on Nordgreen’s Black Friday sale, meaning you can still save 35% off your cart using the code BARELY35. After 1st Dec, you can still save 15% on your cart with code BARELY. Find your perfect gift here.
Best for Him
A few more ideas for the men in your life. Other than a watch, I'm going to plump for cashmere apparel and accessories because you just can't go wrong. Snuggly, luxurious and practical. I also found a few lovely watch displays that would be *so perfect* for F - I'll have to forbid him from reading this post.
Supporting Small
I thought I'd highlight some pieces from small businesses that you can support during these extraordinary times. Etsy, Not On The Highstreet and Trouva are some easy, go to spaces that collate beautiful pieces from independent sellers and boutiques; sometimes handmade, often personalisable.
Best 'Almost-Free'
Beautiful gifts don't have to be expensive and I love the idea of giving or receiving something handmade with love - especially since I've sort of taken up watercolour as a hobby this year. A little project that I think would be really sweet are handmade and/or personalised baubles. You can buy plain, off-white ceramic baubles easily online, and decoration requires just a little paint and maybe some trimmings. If you don't already own acrylic paints, which draw on virtually anything, you can buy them individually - my personal suggestion would be a single colour and a white (giving you a range of tints) and decorate with some ribbon. I'm going to be making some for F's family this year - hope they like them!
xx
