You may have noticed the slight slump in the number of posts on BTB this year thus far (and if you have then well spotted, and points for observation!).

January and February have been awfully busy months and I've been trying to keep up with the blogging part of my life as best I can but in essence, something has to give.

I haven't mentioned this really at all here (I've made a conscious choice to share just the positive on BTB, which some people can't understand, but that's a whole other story!) but my father is.. unwell. Dementia-in-Parkinsons disease to be specific. And as an only child, behind the scenes, that takes up a.. significant portion of my life. A lot of which seems to have concentrated itself into the beginning of this year.

Anyway I'm trying to mitigate for the flurry of activity at the moment but it's arguably going to get worse, because I myself am going in for surgery.

I hate to sound melodramatic but that's essentially what's happening.

Nothing serious (I hope) but I've managed to become the owner of probably the most problematic, arduous complication of a wisdom tooth that couldn't bear to just be extracted in a normal fashion like everyone else.. And so I've got to have surgery on my jaw to remove it. I've been told there'll be swelling and bruising and the like, so I'll be avoiding the lens for a little while.

In all honesty, I'm feeling a bit burnt out at the moment. I think the signs are showing on the outside too - skin, hair, all my usual signs of feeling stressed, and this seemingly escalating start to the year makes me think now might be a good time to ease off a little.

So that's what I've planned to do.

Of course I won't be stopping content entirely (all this goes for Instagram too) but there will be less of it for the time being, and I just wanted to keep you abreast of what's going on, a little more than I maybe have been accustomed to sharing.

I'd love to hear by the way if you might like to hear more of the behind the scenes whilst we're here. And whether you'd like me to perhaps share more of the negative along with the positive. Just a thought.

We'll try to end on the latter though. So here's my latest 10 things that've made me happy :)
