White smock blouse (Zara, past season, similar here)
Straw bag (bought in Provence)
In my mind, they've always been an item of footwear that is reserved for the gym.
For playing tennis or going on runs (although let's be realistic - I don't think I've ran since 2008).
However..
F is a big trainer-wearer, purely for comfort and practicality reasons and I can't help but feel just a little tinge of jealousy when we're travelling or doing something that involves oodles of walking and he hasn't batted an eyelid, whilst I'm wondering where the nearest pharmacy is to buy plasters for my ankles..
Since embracing the 'comfortable shoe ethos', I've been searching out a trainer that matches my aesthetic and that I know I can make work with any outfit.
These lilac trainers c/o Vionic are dreamy (I love this palest grey shade too). They're podiatrist-designed with orthotic support, a memory foam compound in the footbed and a focus on foot relief health and stability.
And from the simply designed upper made of buttery-soft nubuck, you'd never know what delights lie within.
They're light as a feather.
It's like I'm walking on air!
Or on a bed of marshmallows, which is a tastier analogy.
They might be the most comfortable-yet-stylish shoes you're likely to wear.
Vionic are a Berkshire-based company too so it's so lovely to be able to support a local brand.
What I personally look for in a stylish yet comfortable trainer are pastel hues and a simple or streamlined design. I know that whatever the season, whether I'm wearing them with a summer dress or some jeans, that they're going to look cohesive and work with my closet. Here are some other stylish trainers that fit the bill.
