Wrap dresses are, in my eyes, one of the most versatile and universal dress shapes to flatter all. I picked up this flowery, flouncy (and distinctly summery..) number when the weather was a lot warmer, and it's one of those items that's become enveloped by my wardrobe, tags still remaining, to become forgotten about..
But all is not lost!
Darkening days and cooler temperatures does not mean your favourite skirt for sashaying need be confined to the back of the wardrobe. Wrap dresses are the perfect item for layering, and adding a feminine frill to otherwise cosy, masculine or country attire.
I've driven past this spot near Guildford what feels like a million times, and always thought it looked extra special in the paling Autumn light. So, on this particularly luminous day, F and I went, hand in hand, for a country stroll, and I couldn't resist but bring the camera with us.
(Can we give a quick mention to how gorgeous this Centime bangle is? It's engraved with the coordinates of a special spot in my heart and I couldn't love it more! You'll be seeing a lot more of it too I'm sure ;)
I love a good waxed jacket me.
I think it's one of the most hard-working items I have in my closet - I wore my favourite Barbour right through college and university and it's still going strong, not to mention it's picked up a gorgeous, olivine patina across the fabric.
This time, I fell for this forest green alternative from Joules, and it's the perfect way to turn my floral wrap dress from summery and wafty, to hardy and weather-proof, of course combined with a little leg-cover-up and your favourite pair of comfortable Chelsea's.

And you need not think that florals are the only way to go. I've rounded up a few alternative wrap picks that might take your fancy...
As the weather worsens, I'll likely be swapping out the boots for some fleecy wellingtons, and donning a blanket scarf - but the wax and wrap shall remain!
I'd love to hear what you're wearing your wrap dresses with, and wish you the most beautiful of Sundays!
