F I E L D S O F L I L A C
It's another outfit post today!
How do we feel about these btw? I sometimes think I'm just so outside the cookie-cutter 'fashion blogger' stereotype, and that my wardrobe is full of the same items (17x bretons and jeans haha!) that no one will want to see what I'm wearing!
I can't believe that Mayfield's Lavender fields are so relatively close to us, yet I've never been. I managed to coerce F into accompanying me on this little outing, so we ought to acknowledge his support, as a field of flowers is really not his thing - well done F ;) Although, he enjoyed the bees - the lavender is bristling with them, there must be thousands and thousands there. He actually brought up the idea recently of having a little hive of bees ourselves - which fills me with excitement, albeit also with a little hesitation - imagine if they got in my hair? But imagine the fresh, syrupy honey we could collect!
I think broderie anglais is my favourite kind of fabric. I love how it subtly enhances plain white cotton or linen. This particular skirt from Boden is just perfect. I love the pattern of the broderie and the scalloped hemline. It's delicate and cool enough for the hot summer spells we had in June, but weighty enough to sit nicely and not crease too much! There's a whole section in my wardrobe dedicated to 'white' and 'broderie' - The White Company and Fatface usually have great options you can easily get on the high street, in fact, I'll share a few faves down below for you:
I've been really drawn to Boden this year - they have such simple styles, gorgeous prints, and pieces that have enough quality and timelessness to last you plenty of seasons - like this shirt dress that I need to create an occasion to wear.. I love a shirt dress + ponytail combo. Speaking of hair, how do you like mine atm? I cut it myself - I know. I used an approximation of this method and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! I used to be incredibly precious about my hair, but funnily enough after losing a lot of it to Telogen Effluvium, I'm less princessy about it now. And am certainly OK to put the money I would have spent on an expensive cut towards another meal out or some more RL homeware *heart eyes emoji*.
It's all been a bit a-go-go in the last couple of months so I'm looking forward to getting back home after this stint of housesitting and having some rest and recuperation. And I've had a lot of posts scheduled recently, so now that I can be a bit more spontaneous, do share if there's anything you'd like to see. And let me know, how has your week been??
