These little babies are damnably delicious. A sinful mix of chocolate, sugar, spices, and gooey Nutella, this is the drink I'm reaching for this festive period - I can't get enough of it's spicy, Yuletide kick. So let's forgo any thoughts of healthy eating and get sipping on this divine concoction!

There are a number of ways to go about making a hot chocolate but the all-in-one method that I adopt is so simple to whip up, here's what you'll need for two overflowing cups:

600ml milk
1.5 tsps ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3 tbsps cocoa
4 tsps sugar (I use light muscavado but whatever you have)
2 tbsps Nutella
Double cream, whipped
Galaxy Ripples

The method for this couldn't be simpler. Warm up your milk in a saucepan, then add in the spices, cocoa and Nutella - I find a small whisk helps everything come together. Heat gently on the stove for around 10 minutes until the milk is hot and steaming but hasn't reached a boil. Pour into mugs/coffee glasses before topping with whipped cream, marshmallows and chopped/crumbled Ripple bars.

You can vary the amount of sugar/cocoa depending on your taste, I like my hot choccies strong, sweet and spicy. If you find the spices remain a little gritty in the finished choc, feel free to strain it through a muslin cloth, or infuse them in a stock syrup first. And if you like a richer, more bitter taste (my other half likes 90% chocolate), then replace the Nutella with a few squares of extra dark chocolate. You could even try adding rum or liqueurs to this, like a hot cocktail.

I actually have a steaming mug beside me as I type this now! So pour yourself one too and join me by the fire yes?

Whatever you're doing, have a wonderfully happy and healthy Christmas you gorgeous lot.

  5. This was super tour to this yummy chocolate recipe. Those look so so delicious and mind-blowing. I have to admit it was a sweet and mind-charming read for me. I like the way you presented all the experiences here to your fans and readers. I am new here but perhaps I have to get back here very often to enjoy your alluring contents. I start my morning with a heavy mug of Homemade French Vanilla Coffee Creamer and made a trip to online getting my favorite coffee and chocolate ideas with flavored taste. Surely this was one of them. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Hi dude! I can give you advice for the future. Girls are always crazy about flowers and chocolate. Be romantic, give her an organic chocolate gift set. I ordered it for my wife, she just jumped with happiness. So think, the price of the issue is small, but there is a lot of joy. I advise you to heed my advice.
