St Ives - what to do in Cornwall

St Michael's Mount is connected to the mainland by an old, cobbled causeway which you can wander across, barefoot as the low tide spills onto the polished stones.

Unfortunately neither the tide nor the weather were on our side for that vision.

Marazion - st michaels mount

A grey day at Marazion, it was up to the Cornish pasty (a very good one courtesy of Philps) to brighten our morning before heading off to our next stop.

You're never far from one of the many farm shops speckled about the place, a veritable treat for purchasing local produce and picnic necessities.

A little pit stop before heading to St Ives.

I loved this little vantage point on the hilltop, valerian sprouting from every crack in the wall, to watch the town's dogs run gleefully into the surf.

Lots of little shops among the cobbled streets to pick up a silly souvenir or two.

St Ives - Porthmeor Beach Cafe

We decided to stop at Porthmeor Beach Cafe for a bite to eat.

Greens atop miso caramel, halloumi accompanied by watermelon and smokey aubergine, and a fruity take on the daily catch (seabass).

Once more to the hot tub we return, for more exploring upon the morning.
