Summer beauty is all about the skin. I love pared back makeup when the weather warms up, in fact no makeup at all, bar perhaps a tinted moisturiser and a generous application of lip balm. There are all manner of ways to achieve glowing summer skin, and today I'm sharing eight of my favourites.

I'm all for several types of sunscreen to protect my skin. I usually carry a clear SPF stick of some form to top up my nose and cheekbones when they're looking a little red. I think the Vichy one is great, it has a lovely light texture and is really affordable. My latest find has been the No7 Shimmering Lip & Eye Screen, a similar idea but with a beautifully subtle champagne tint. Although designed for eyes and lips, I'll use my fingers to apply this along my cheekbones too for a subtle glow and added protection.

I feel there's a slight theme with the honey. Banila Co's Honey Essence is a well known and well documented favourite of mine, as it gives the skin the most enviable glow. There's no sparkle, no shimmer, no greasiness, it's a lovely, tactile formulation that glides on and leaves my skin looking healthy and dewy.

I wanted this post to include a mixture of skincare and makeup, and how can I forego mentioning a highlighter? I've really been enjoying using liquid highlights of late, something versatile that you can melt into the skin with your fingertips, or mix into moisturiser should you so wish. Tom Ford's Shimmer Shot is, expectedly, divine, as is Burberry's Nude Radiance, although I mentioned a really good dupe for that here.

Let's talk a little vitamin C, this time in the form of Indeed's Vitamin C24 cream - 24 because of the 22% L-Ascorbic acid + 2% hyaluronic acid spheres. It's an interesting formula, supposedly the HA spheres start off dehydrated, then fill with water in the skin, aiding absorption and stability of the vitamin C. Best used if you tend not to layer emollients, and if you don't like silicone then this won't be for you, but a great option for minimal skincare routines and if you want a powerful dose of vitamin C.

I was recently sent some Farmacy goodies, c/o Cult Beauty and I've fallen in love with the Honey Potion. My skin feels so happily nourished after using it and I love the ethos behind the brand. As well as all things good from the hive, this mask includes seabuckthorn oil for an antioxidant kick. On the topic of masks, I love to keep my old favourite REN Glycolactic on hand as the chemical exfoliators makes my skin feel brand new.

Having a hint of tan to your complexion can really bring it alive and give it a healthy glow - I just like to fake mine rather than tan naturally! And to do so, you need a convincing bronzer. Something silky and gorgeous, that'll meld beautifully with your skin and look impercetible from every angle. I actually have several favourites at the moment, starting off with The Body Shop's Honey Bronzer and Hourglass' Ambient Lighting bronzer for powders - I've been wearing the latter daily lately. In fact, Kiko have a blush-bronzer duo and the texture is impeccable. For liquids, I love the Maybelline BB bronzer, and the L'Oreal bronzer cushion is wonderful when properly blended. Otherwise, the NARS Laguna liquid  bronzer is beautiful and pretty fail safe.

Cleansing cloths are a saviour for travel. When it's hot, I often go bare faced (other than sunscreen) or use a tinted moisturiser of some kind (I'm loving the Chanel CC cream at the moment) and I love to refresh my face with a wipe part way through the day as I feel it removes grime and congestion - some hardcore sunscreens can get that dry, grimey feeling after a while, you know? The Ole Henriksen Cleansing Cloths include vitamins and antioxidants to treat your face on-the-go, and they smell like sweeties too.

I'd love to hear your favourite products for a healthy, summer glow!
