Dolphins & Monkeys, Gibraltar

With the bride and groom now husband and wife, we awoke early for another day of exploration and fun. First up, the obligatory fresh churros breakfast to keep our strength up for the day ahead.. (Do you think that will pass as an excuse? Oh heck, they're delicious.)

It was pretty breezy so the return of the obnoxious trouser was a good decision!

A nautical morning, yippee! Near the coast of northern Africa, skimming the gentle waves in our canary yellow boat (a Lonely Island song comes to mind??), seeing secret freshwater caves and yes, dolphins! They're terribly friendly and swim with the boat, but they're so graceful and fast, such a nightmare to photograph!

Fresh from the sea to 1000ft above it, the cablecar in Gibraltar is a must. The views are sweeping, panoramic and beautiful. It takes only a few minutes to ascend and waiting at the top on your arrival, Barbary apes! These guys are super tame and cute. There's a hefty fine for feeding them but we caught this naughty chap trying to impress passers-by by giving them tictacs. Needless to say the monkeys showed him what for!

We made a friend! The adorable 'Lenny the lion.'

Back on the ground, a casual amble to the Botanical Gardens. It was so peacefully empty and tranquil. The flora feels almost tropical at the foot of the rock. A beautiful walk.

Well, so long Gibraltar! It's been a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Wedding Bells, Gibraltar

I'm getting married in the morningggggg, ding dong the bells are going to chiiiimmeeeee!

Well strictly speaking (or speaking in any regard..) not myself, but I woke up just as excited!

Suite decorated, tables set, cake arriving (Vera Wang cake cutlery!), flowers here, dresses on, makeup done, hair styled, bride ready, off to the church!

Ceremony time, tears falling, rings exchanged, hymns sung, confetti thrown, photos taken, they're finally officially married! Congratulations to the bride and groom!

Now time to enjoy the festivites.

Food plentiful, champagne flowing, spirits high, it's time to dance into the early hours, with this view to look over..

Marina Life, Gibraltar

Waking up early is infinitely easier when it's blindingly sunny outside.

Bright eyed and bushy tailed, we explored a little more. Slipping down little side streets and coming across little nooks and open spaces feels like a game!

Shopping in Gibraltar is just excellent. Prices of jewellery, skincare, watches, makeup and perfume are noticeably cheaper than the UK, with no VAT and bartering to be expected, this is a shoppers' paradise!

With the wedding looming, time to get our pedicures. With the obligatory obnoxious trouser of course.

Come evening and we headed off to the marina, which was still gloriously basked in hot sunshine. Dinner at The Landings is highly recommended, the food is fresh and delicious and the setting is exquisite.

Day 2 in Gibraltar and a restful evening with the bride watching the sun go down, before wedding bells tomorrow! (P.S, Can you believe that's Africa on the horizon?!)
