Straw bag - c/o Orelia (similar here)

I've barely left the house since March, but one of the little spots of solace I've enjoyed over summer have been these nearby fields. Incidentally, they're right on my doorstep, I'd just never sought them out before. It just goes to show there's usually a lot to be explored right beneath your own nose isn't there?

It may not look that warm but it was pretty balmy, hence all the linen. I'm always tempted to turn my summer closet into a capsule of exclusively linen pieces because it's what I always end up reaching for when it gets hot. And hot weather seems to be increasingly more common each year now..

I love easy outfits like this - my style has definitely taken more of a relaxed turn as I get older. And these individual pieces are some of my favourites - comprised of both old and new.

M&S did my preferred style of linen shirt, with the front placket, but I think they've dropped that this year, so Massimo Dutti would be a close second - and they're on sale atm. I picked up one of their taupe-hued shirts this year and it's lovely.

I think I've mentioned before that I tend to lean towards jewellery with meaning, memory or sentiment, so was *delighted* to find this etched lavender piece within Daisy's women's necklaces. I was looking for something similar in Provence as a memento of our trip there last year, so this feels incredibly fitting! (F says it looks a bit like wheat, but that's OK with me too - I actually dropped it in this field whilst shooting for this post - but we found it glinting away, thank goodness). I love the sparkly little chain and the pendant's quite weighty considering it's delicate size.

And here's a closer look at my
Petite Mendigote sandals I recently shared on Instagram. I adore these with every fibre of my being. Hopelessly French in style, the leather is very smooth and supple and they're very comfortable (they run the teeniest bit small). If you're a size 6 then I think you're still in luck, but otherwise, I'll find some alternatives for you.

P.S - are you holding onto summer or looking ahead to autumn?
