Feminine 'Forever Pieces'

Hello!

I just wanted just touch on the current climate at the moment, it's been a little while since my last post. In fact only a couple of weeks ago but it feels like so much has happened since.

How are you?

I hope you're safe and well, and doing OK.

I think it's officially been three weeks of this 'life-in-limbo', although it's been a bit longer for us as my parents are particularly vulnerable and have needed to be shielded. In case you didn't already know, that's where I am atm, back with them because I frankly don't think they'd manage on their own. That means I'm without F which is incredibly tough but we speak around a thousand times a day and ultimately, I know it's the right thing to do.

I hope you're trying to keep positive. That's what I'm trying to do. Of course there is plenty to worry about but I want to make the most of this 'new normal' and the time it brings. In a strange way, it feels like the pressure is off a little, and I'm thinking about how I could get the most out of this extra time. Learning something new, developing a hobby, developing myself, reorganising, having a clear out, making anew etc and so forth. I used to dance (several stone ago!) but my flexibility is god awful lately so that and yoga is a little personal goal of mine to work on over the coming weeks.

In the meantime I've been perusing the online stores for the latest and greatest - because everyone needs a distraction. I'm trying to be a bit more conscious when it comes to my closet and take a more minimal, mindful and longlasting approach to my style. 'Forever pieces' are just items that I know will have longevity in my closet, should I look after them with care, and are styles I know I'll want to wear in years to come. So I hope you enjoy some of my picks!

Just to clarify as well, that a forever piece need not be expensive, nor designer. I wear many items from the high street and have even picked up a few bits in good second hand condition. It's more about taking care of your items, how you style them and looking for items that are going to work and grow with your style. I'm also not saying that you should feel any need to completely rework your closet - especially at this time it may not be the most responsible thing to do. Beautiful fashion isn't really an 'essential item' but there's something to be said for anything that can improve your mindset and help with mental health in this difficult time, and if it helps retailers stay afloat then that's not a bad thing either.

What 'forever pieces' are you coveting these days?
