I'm back with another style post today!

I feel like it's been a bit all go in blogging HQ/casa BTB lately. I had a few posts I wanted to get up and then the mammoth task of the Christmas Gift Guide ensued.. (~200 gifts hopefully-beautifully arranged in Photoshop collages really takes quite some work!) But now that's up and I'm able to resurface to the world, whilst there are other projects still going on, I feel like I've a little interim period of calm and I'm feeling a bit more like myself again.

So for today's post, I just wanted to have a catch up with you and share an outfit I've been sporting with much jollity lately. I invite you to fetch yourself a hot drink of your choosing and enjoy :)

Wool skirt (past season from Boden - similar here)

Ahhhh..

That's the noise I've been making a lot lately, including now as I collapse into a comfortable chair. F's kindly made me a cup of tea and is about to head off to work. I've a jumbo sized bar of guilty-pleasure-cheap chocolate (Malteasers) by my side (stress and busy periods do absolutely no good for my 'healthy eating' efforts) so I'm all set and ready to blog ramble blog a little ;)

I haven't felt very Christmassy the last couple of years - I haven't the foggiest why in particular - but this year, it's not even December and I'm already feeling quite positive and festive (truth be told, Christmas can be a bit of a tricky time since dad's diagnoses, but I'm so lucky that F makes it, and every other time of year, special and joyful).

I'm usually not too fussed about Black Friday either but have quite relished a long weekend of online shopping this year. I picked up a few bits for the home from The White Company, some gifts for others and a few things from my Black Friday wishlist - so altogether, a successful shop I feel.

And another thing I've picked up lately is this scarf (damn, just look at that segue ;)

I feel like I've been wearing a variation of this outfit quite a bit lately. It's perfect for autumn/winter and I feel appropriate for just about any occasion. Although I grant, loafers aren't the best woodland walking shoe! I care not though as I adore this pair quite so much. They've just come out with an unadorned, patent burgundy version too and I'm just willing myself not give in to temptation..

I'm still after the perfect camel coat if honest, and perhaps one day i'll just splurge on a belted number from Max Mara and be done with it, but until that fateful day arrives, this classic nonetheless remains welcome in my wardrobe.

I picked up this woollen skirt from Boden a couple of years ago and it's been an excellent investment - albeit after I'd found it, lost and reclusive in the back of my wardrobe (the interior of my wardrobe is black lacquer and has an alarming aptitude for swallowing up dark coloured garments..). I'm wearing a classic white Oxford shirt with it today, but I'm after a pretty, French-inspired blouse to pair with it for another ocassion. Sezane perhaps? Recommendations welcome!

A little behind the scenes - F and I had somewhat of a struggle with these photos because the rate of leaves changing colour seems to be all over the place this year! We'd visited these woods a couple of weeks earlier (same time as last year) and the trees were entirely green. Around 10 days later and the leaves had pretty much dropped entirely  :| And nobody mentions how many takes a 'throwing leaves up in the air' shot can take when your leaves stick together and fall into your hair in an unwieldy clump.

But nevertheless, whilst the trees might have been looking a little stark and bare, and my leaf-throwing skills might leave a lot to be desired, the dappled sunlight more than makes up for it. Autumnal or wintry sunshine has just the best warmth and glow.

I've got a hell of a lot of tidying-the-bedroom to do (culminating PR and shopping has gotten out of control!) so I wish you all a wonderful Sunday :)
