This is what 'happy' is.

Evenings spent with loved ones, in rural surroundings, with the nigh on smouldering warmth of an intensely hot, evening sun basking on our shoulders.

And what better a dress to gleefully dance about the fields than this?

We're in the midst of a torrid few weeks of weather, which on the one hand is entirely wonderful - isn't it marvelous to be able to count on sunshine for all of your outdoor pursuits and plans? But, on the other, somewhat more hot, sweaty and sleepless hand, I'm not the most capable of sun worshippers..

And that's why it's dresses like these that keep me from melting like a little tepid puddle of ice cream that's been left out of the freezer.

This powder-blue midi is, I think, my most loved item in my current wardrobe.

It has some beautiful details, like the long row of dainty, tortoiseshell-esque buttons, and the sweetest of tie-side sleeves.

And of course it ticks my ever growing blue-and-white box ;)

I'm struggling to think of reasons to ever take it off.

F and I recently took a little day trip into the deepest of Hampshire's countryside. So good for the soul I can't tell you. For one, parking was free and easy the entire day - no parting with £10 just to dash about a crowded centre doing your shopping.. Instead, hot, country air, not a building to be seen for miles. Blissful.
