12 BEAUTY PRODUCTS FOR HOT WEATHER.

Now that we're officially into summer, who else is excited for some sun? A little basking, some pool-side frivolity? Whatever you're up to, there's nothing worse than worrying about whether your makeup is going to stay put, so today I'm going to be sharing some of my current favourite products that are perfect for warmer weather and can stand the heat.

Blithe Citrus Honey Splash Mask $45 | In sweltering heat (or really, even just a little humidity), the last thing I want on my face is a heavy, rich mask. My quickest solution to radiant, luminous and resurfaced skin is a quick dabble with my Blithe Splash mask (full review here). This wonder-liquid gives me results in under a minute, and without the sticky residue that nobody wants on a torrid, summers day - the perfect revitaliser to pack in your suitcase for that tropical getaway you've been planning.

Grown Alchemist Hydra Mist + £18 (here for the US) | In hot weather, it's all too easy to feel a little scorched and dehydrated. I love a good face mist for a quick refresh and this one is no different. This handy-dandy bottle is formulated with aloe vera and sodium hyaluronate to soothe and hydrate the skin, it's a great pocket-sized spritzer that I can just throw into my handbag, and being 30ml, it can come on the plane with you for some in-flight refreshment you skin will thank you for.

O Hui Perfect Red Sunscreen £28 | A good SPF is the most important part of any hot weather beauty routine. I'm a huge fan of the O Hui Perfect Red anti aging formula, my favourite sunscreen - it's creamy but sinks in to the point where you can't see or feel anything on your skin, and I don't react to it like I have with La Roche Posay's Anthelios range. An SPF 50, broad spectrum, physical sunscreen, this has a slightly pale-pink hue that subtly brightens too.

Barry M Molten Metals in Bronze Bae £3.99 | Fortunately, we don't have to worry about the sun melting off our nail polish, but I wanted to give a quick mention to this beautiful, metallic shade from Barry M - decent wear time and it looks gorgeous flickering away in the sun.

Innisfree Microcara £8 | I eluded to this mascara's staying power in Part 1 of my Korean Skincare & Makeup Haul and it's since proved it's suitably for a sultry, summer-night climate. Whilst this hasn't a hope in holding a curl for my lashes, I've actually found a way to make it work - as a topcoat. And a brilliant job it does too. The teeny tiny brush latches onto every lash and seals them with a budgeproof, smudgeproof coating - say arrivederci to panda eyes.

Etude House Real Powder Cushion Foundation £28 | Cushion foundations aren't really famed for their staying power, and the majority of them become too dewy after a long day in the sun. The Etude House Real Powder cushion has a drier texture, meaning a longer lasting coverage without looking shiny, whilst still giving you that light, ethereal finish you want from a cushion, and no need to powder. You can take a look at my review and try-on in this post.

Bioderma Hydrabio Eau De Soin SPF 30 £9 (and here for US) | After going in with my O Hui sunscreen as a base, I love topping up my SPF throughout the day with a spray. This one from Bioderma is clear, unlike the body sun sprays that have been around for yonks. I spritz on a fine spray when I need a little refreshment, without worrying about it affecting my makeup. Steer clear of your hair though - it feels tacky on my flyaways, like appallingly cheap hairspray or mousse.

Clarins Bronzer £30 (here for US) | A little warmth to the skin can be anyone's prettiest accessory for summer. For the last few years, I've been far more conscious of the unhealthiness of baking in the sun, but love to top up my glow with a little bronzer. This Clarins compact is beautiful inside and out, I adore the tortoiseshell-esque packaging and embossed inner, and the four shades blend together or stand up individually for a beautiful, warm glow. The huge pan size means you can use this on your body too.

Verso Day Cream £85 (and here for the US) | Nobody wants a heavy moisturiser in warmer weather but there's no reason to just settle for one that doesn't have benefits on top of mere hydration. This protective, daily moisturiser from Verso boasts niacinamide as it's third ingredient, as well as antioxidants and a patented retinol complex. A light, film-forming cream, it glides on effortlessly and instantly brightens skin, not feeling greasy or slippery even after hours out in the sun.

Kiko Heatwave Lip Oil £10.90 | Oils are such a lovely way to nourish the lips - they look glossy and hydrated without feeling sticky, a great, low maintenance option for summer. These oils from Kiko feel light and comfortable, although are part of a limited edition collection, in which case I'd recommend the Clarins Comfort Oils (here for US).

Clarins Ombre Iridescent Eyeshadow in 01 Aquatic Rose £19 (here for US) | Similar to the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre's, this shadow pot from Clarins has excellent longevity, lasting all day whether you have oily lids or skip the primer. I find it best to apply with fingers for a foolproof, one-and-done eye look. Aquatic Rose is the most beautiful, golden, rose-pink shade that's flattering on all skin tones - Silver Plum is another stunning (and slightly unusual) shade.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Frozen Quartz £29 (here for US) | Cream shadow sticks are my favourite eye products, and I think on balance, the Ombre Blackstars from ByTerry are the best. A smooth, creamy, pigmented formula that sets fast and lasts all day, these are the ultimate in convenient, heatproof makeup. Frozen Quartz is a beautiful, pink-nude shade that actually layers beautifully with Clarins Aquatic Rose for the most perfect, carefree look.
