Another new release from Barry M (have a peep at my Mani Masks review if you haven't already), this time it's lipsticks, with a formula promising to be pigmented, dewy and lustrous. I don't know about you but I'm all ears! Let's have a look at the photos/swatches.
The Barry M Satin Super Slick Lip Paints, £4.49 but they're £3.49 in Boots atm! (could they not have come up with a shorter name?) are hydrating, nourishing lipsticks, coming in little pewter bullets. These lipsticks are really quite petite in size, which is handy for storage.
Formulated with shea butter and Vitamin E, these lippies are a dream to apply, giving you a creamy, dewy finish in a world of matte (I'm just not a matte lover.. completely against the blogging grain I know). There are 6 shades, of which I picked up 4; 168 Truffle Shuffle was far too pale for me and 190 Mauve It, too purple.
The formula is lovely and comfortable on the lips and although they're not long wearing (a few hours?), fade nicely so you're not left with the weird blotchiness some lipsticks give you. I would say that it clings to dry patches though, and can emphasise them, so exfoliate beforehand.
166 Peachy Keen, a light and bright coral-y pink, and 167 Nuditude (it's so pretty in the bullet but I don't like it on!), a pale, blue-toned pink, translate quite light on my lips, so I like to sheer them out instead of going in full force. Peachy Keen is really uplifting to your complexion, I feel it's going to be a great one for spring/summer. 169 Mannequin I would say is a dusky rose/nude, probably my favourite of the bunch and 171 Berrylicious is a really wearable, purpley-berry tone.
These look lovely, I really like the packaging too, it's been a while since I had anything from Barry M.
ReplyDeleteBerrylicious looks like the perfect shade for me.
