Afternoon Tea, Ham Yard London.

12 November 2015 3 comments

A short walk from Piccadilly, is a cute little courtyard, hidden in plain sight from the tourists crowding around Eros and The Curve.

Ham Yard is a gorgeously eclectic hotel in Soho where, aside from beautifully decorated bedrooms (The Terrace Suite *swoon*), you can get a pretty stonking afternoon tea for virtually tuppence. We popped in for a spontaneous post-birthday treat.

There's lots to look at before you've even reached the dining room. So prettyyy, texture, fabrics draping the walls, art work, and pretty, pretty details. Warm. Colourful. Inviting.

Afternoon tea is 20 of your good English pounds a head and we got some extras of the 'bar menu' (between £5-£10), mainly because I couldn't resist.

Savouries; Goats cheese and harissa toastie, kedgeree scotch egg and arancini with pineapple salsa, chorizo sausage roll bites, finger sandwiches and duck gyozas. Sweet; raspberry eclairs, a jaffa pot, sticky, delectable parkin and the best macarons I've tasted this year. And not forgetting the obligatory scones with clotted cream and jams. And proper tea to top it off.

Our waitress was particularly friendly and attentive so extra house points to her, and after she'd asked if we were there for any special occasion, arrived with a plateful of goodies on a decorated, birthday plate!

Are you an afternoon-tea-go-er? a) let's be best pals asap and b) leave your recommendations down below!

And for another brilliant value London tea sesh, check out my review of a lovely little place in South Kensington.

  1. I can't think of anything nicer than afternoon tea in London! I've never came across this one but it looks delicious and £20 is quite the bargain round Piccadilly. Have you done the afternoon tea tour bus? I did that one last year and it was marvellous! x

  2. SO PRETTY! Is this the secret and covet alcove I always walk past whenever I'm walking in Picadilly?! I think it is! Such a cute little place for tea as well, I'm surprised it's only £20 as well - nothing extortionate like the £40 you get in fancy schmancy hotels! I've only been to a handful of places for tea, and one of them was the Chesterfield Hotel, gorgeous setting but my gosh it was pricey!

  3. Looks amazing and for £20pp.. Bargain! I love the interior design - all looks so sophisticated! X
