Sun & Fun at Cliveden, Buckinghamshire

Gallivanting around country houses and gardens is a very British pursuit, and I adore it. There's nothing better on a sunny day to get out in the country with something beautiful to look at around every corner.

A simple and comfortable outfit was today's choice. (Isn't it always?!)

Cliveden House in Taplow is the perfect day out. If you're a magpie for all things beautiful, like me, Cliveden is a haven.

There is plenty to see; beautiful architecture, gardens and grounds. You can take a casual stroll and wander around for miles.

Make sure you tackle the maze! Our 'well this looks simple!' attitude quickly turned into 'are you 100% sure we've been this way???',  it's great fun!

The Water Garden is dreamy and so pristinely manicured. We sat in the dappled shade awhile to watch the herons fishing, before exploring the grounds some more.

Round the back of the house, make sure you seize the perfect photo op. at the beautiful curved balcony - I feel like I need my photo taken here in a wedding dress, don't know about you?!

We wandered down to the Parterre, which is abundant with colour in spring and summer, to bask in the sunshine a little.

Built in the 1850's, there's so much handsome architecture to appreciate, be sure to have a good snoop around!

Why not take a picnic and make a day of it!
