SIMPLE WARM BRONZE HOLIDAY MAKEUP 2017.

23 December 2017 5 comments

Last year, I couldn't help myself but opt for a classic red lip for the festive period - and might I add, Rimmel's Take The Stage performed beautifully!

This year (and now I'm starting to sound like Wham), I've chosen to sport a simple, warm eye, pared with a really gorgeous lip colour that's new to my collection. To celebrate the direction in which I'm headed when it comes to beauty and makeup, I wanted this look to be effortlessly laissez-faire, and be quick and simple to apply.

I like to try and make a habit of freshly exfoliating my skin and applying a face mask of some sort before a special occasion. A two-in-one mask-scrub is one of my favourite ways to grant your skin glow and refinement - I love how the Omorovicza transforms from deepest emerald to a pale sage-tinted grey. A simple, rose sheet mask calms any post-massage redness in my skin, leaving it prepped and primed for makeup - a tad of pm moisturiser doesn't go amiss for blending down the neck and chest too.

My face routine is supremely simple, all thanks to the La Mer foundation that seems to be such a perfect match for my skin at the mo - so much so that I need little else. I'm keeping things simple, fresh and well-blended on the cheeks - the Hourglass and Burberry powders blend beautifully over cream products and becoming rather attached to my new, favourite, subtly sublime highlighter that gives the most gorgeous, candlelit aura.

Whereas last year, I opted for a somewhat 'greige' eye and a swipe of a jet black wing, to pair alongside some cherry red lips, this year I'm grabbing a handful of favourites, old and new, to create a gently warm, incredibly simple eye. A few products utilised, but the kind of look you could do with your fingers.

New Look Brow Gel - a great find, I'm loving this! My equivalent to the Glossier Boy Brow.
Becca Ombre Rouge (UK | US) - the central shade, through the crease.
Charlotte Tilbury cream shadow (UK | US) - Marie Antoinette, dabbed on the lid with my finger.
Becca Apres Ski (UK | US) - a dash of the lightest champagne in the inner corner - currently on sale!
Stila liner - Lionfish, tightline the outer halves of my eyes.

I can't even think how I ended up trying makeup from Next, but I expect it was a recent peek at their homeware that led me into leaving with a new favourite lippie. Rather than your standard, Christmas-red, I'm opting for a deeply coral-y pink, opaque in a simple swipe.

Next lipstick - both a beautiful formula and colour for under £10!

And here are a few snaps of the look! Using my handy-dandy Lumee from this photography tips post, that makes taking makeup photos so much easier for me (I don't know quite why but I just can't get eyeshadow especially to show up? Beauty blogging fail..) and is making my skin look pretty creamy and delish.

I really hope you enjoy the look and I'd just love to hear/see what you'll be sporting for Christmas, NYE (or whatever you're celebrating!). I'm going to be signing off from BTB (although there'll be a few more pics on my Instagram ;) for Christmas now, so I'll see you all on the other side - wishing you all the most wonderful of days, and may all your Christmas wishes come true :)
