October has been a glorious month. Aside from the fact that it's 'birthday' month for both F and I (!), it's one of my favourite months for experiencing the crisp, illustrious sunlight that's just magical in Autumn. Here are 10 more things that've made me happy lately!

one. // Birthday Month! I've been pretty spoilt this month. From little getaways with F, to the most wonderful PR packages arriving on my birthday, I've a lot to be thankful for. (And F's father curated me the sweetest present, in the style of Willy Wonka's Golden Ticket, hidden in my favourite bar of Godiva Blood Orange, so surprised and delighted!) There are a few things we couldn't schedule into October too, so I'm looking forward to the spillover into next month ;)

two. // Our little visit to Petersham Nursuries. I'm sure you'll hear everyone say that it's their favourite place in the world, but it really does feel especially alluring when you head down on an exceedingly quiet afternoon, as we did the other day, and it feels like you've got the entire place to yourselves. Post soon to come!

three. // Re-embracing my love for Castella cake - and having a go at making it myself! I haven't had this delightfully sticky, sweet, honey cake for the longest time, and although the recipe is really quite temperamental, my loaves came out beautifully, so I couldn't be more pleased. Happy to share my recipe and little tweaks and tips, so let me know if you'd like to see it!

four. // Another exceedingly delicious meal at The Greyhound. AWT's place in Rotherfield Peppard is just the most cosy, eccentrically-decorated setting, and most importantly, his food is divine. Always perfectly cooked and full of flavour - the wagyu is excellent and I already can't wait to go back again.

five. // All the love I've had for my lifestyle posts! If you've been keeping up with me here on BTB, you'll have noticed my shift to more lifestyle posts (in fact, I've only shared one beauty post this month!), and I'll admit, I was a little apprehensive that they wouldn't be as well received. But regardless of the hesitation, it just felt more me and so I went ahead. But I'm so happy to say that I've had such lovely feedback from you all - my Beginner's Guide To Houseplants and Autumn Style Staples have been particularly popular, so here's my chance to say a big thank you to you :)

six. // Seeing an elderly gentleman pruning his trailing roses in a full, tweed, 3-piece. With matching tweed hat. In a walled garden. On a beautifully sunny day. Just heartwarming.

seven. // The Mauli Grow Strong Hair Oil. I've neglected my hair and it hasn't thanked me, but this lovely, ayurvedic scalp oil is making it feel softer and more manageable.

eight. // A Vision Of Eden. F's mother kindly picked me up a lovely, old copy of Marianne North's (botanist and biological artist who worked at Kew Gardens) life and works. I've loved her illustrations from afar and it's been thoroughly interesting to thumb through her story. There's something about Autumn that makes me more inclined to read - just me?

nine. // Enjoying clothes shopping again. I got myself into a really big rut of hating my body, and therefore loathing clothes shopping - thinking that everything looked dreadful on me, and just having a really negative attitude towards the whole affair. I don't think I've lost any weight (I don't weigh myself anymore, in an effort to disconnect with the 'numbers' and just go by how I feel), so its quite possible that it's just my outlook that's changed (or the fact that's it's a lot cooler and I can layer up!), so I've been enjoying the experience a lot more. Here are several things I'm enjoying at the mo :)

ten. // Bloggers. I'm in utter adoration of Cindy's snaps lately, she's branching out into more lifestyle photography and I love every photo!
