A subtle, radiant sheen is the best accessory if you're big on skin, that's why my highlighter collection is growing exponentially! I'm sharing several of my favourites today, not so much 'cheeks on fleek' but the kind that make you glow in the prettiest way possible, the IRL (or in-real-life) Instagram filters. I've even got swatches for you. #photographinghighlighterstruggles

Josie Maran Illuminizing Wand $28 | This highlighting stick is the utmost in travel-friendly portability. Enriched with argan-oil-a-plenty, it's so creamy and smooth, making blending out on the go rather dreamy. It's not the easiest thing to find here in the UK but you can pick it up at Sephora, and if you can, do, the warm, golden hue sheers down beautifully and looks bomb on Asian/olive skins.

Rose For Autograph Rosebud £18 | This loose powder highlight is really the stuff of dreams. It's not in the heady heights of Tom Ford et al pricing but a) £18 for a makeup item isn't cheap and b) it's good enough to be priced up there. Uber finely milled, this stuff gives you the most gorgeous highlight, as if your cheekbones are just so taut and porcelain smooth that they positively refract light. I highly highly recommend you check out my full review on this one, it's too good a product to miss.

Jouer Glisten Brightening Powder £21 | One of the biggest problems in my books with highlighter is exaggerating pores, and if you're quite accustomed to oily skin, you'll know the problem! This highlight consists of an opaque, peachy-pink, radiance-boosting base powder with a fine golden overlay of shimmer, meaning it hides pores pretty well whilst still giving you an envious shimmer.

Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight Cream (review here) £22 for the duo | I know it doesn't look it in my swatches (photographing highlighters is such a pain) but this is the most delicious, creamy, subtle highlight that I think I own. It feels luxourious like a balm, and gives the most realistic and believable sheens of the bunch. A cheaper alternative to the RMS Living Luminizer, you get a contour shade in the duo too which is equally as superlative.

NARS Tribulation 'Blush' £23 | Technically limited edition but still available from Selfridges and NARS' website, Tribulation is exceedingly pretty on the skin. A good one for those who love the NARS blush formula, it's more complex than at first glance, there's a dusky rose/pale pink pigment lurking in there that takes this highlight up a notch into greatness.

Givenchy Moonlight Saisons Powder £36 | New new new, these powders were released with the Summer 2016 Collection (review here - it's well worth a look, it's all fresh jelly textures which I LOVE) and the highlight shade has quickly become a favourite! The powders are so smooth and creamy, you barely know you're picking up any product, and the finish is lovely and pigmented, but easily blendable.

Innisfree Mineral Highlighter £7 | A highlight not many will have tried, and far from high end, but it's really just ridiculously pretty. One for the subtle party, this is the best powder I've found to give you a realistic, natural, ethereal glow, it blends and melds with the skin just like a cream. A tip top secret, I love to mix this with a gel or gel-serum and pat along my cheekbones to get a fresh, youthful glow. You can pick this up in a duo too (review here) which I love, so travel friendly.

And there's my roundup. I'd like to give an honourable mention to Givenchy's Poudre Lumiere Originelle (review here) because I'm desperately in love, it's just not the easiest thing to find (although it's still on Sephora), and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders
