VALENTINE'S DAY BEAUTY EDIT.

4 February 2016 18 comments

Valentine's Day calls for all the prettiness, whatever you plan on doing. These beauty essentials will have you looking gorgeous and glam if you're out with the chap or embracing 'Gal-entines' day, and if you're staying in for a night of self-indulgence, why not treat yourself by adding a few to your online shopping bag?

EYES

Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con Palette in The Lolita | $59 but coming to Harrods this month!

My word this palette is exquisite. The perfect set of neutrals with a hint of sparkle. Luxurious packaging, texture, quality, need I say more?

Chanel Illusion D'Ombre | £25

Although I'm featuring the limited edition shade New Moon in my photo, any of the Illusion D'Ombres make my essentials list. A one-and-done shadow in a multitude of stunning colours, the quality of these guys is amazing. Moonlight, the limited shade from the Spring 2016 collection is beautiful, and of course Emerveille. Fatal and Ebloui are my favourites for something a little darker.

CHEEKS

Chanel Joues Contraste in Alezane | £31

Something beautiful and expensive to go on my cheeks. Alezane is a rosy, brownish colour that swatches a little deeper than my usual favoured blushes. I think it's a fab one to pair with the Tom Ford lippie mentioned below.

Kiko Shade Fusion Trio in 03 Abricot | £10.90

Love love love the formula of these gorgeous blushes. So silky and smooth for a powder, you can't go far wrong with application, and it'll leave you with the healthiest of sheens.

Stila Liquid Luminizer in Rose Gold | Various

I witter on about these endlessly but years later, they're still among my favourites. A rosy, liquid illuminising product that blends out seamlessly and makes you look hydrated and healthy.

Chanel Les Beiges Blush in No.21 | £32

I'm not going to lie, £32 for a blush is expensive. But I fell in love. The stick is my favourite way to apply makeup and the sheer, gel-like quality of this blush is sublime. The Mr Francais (the french guy) at the Chanel counter brought it up through my temples and oh my. It's so beautiful I can't say enough about it.

Josie Maran Illuminizing Veil | $30 (I believe you can only pick this up in the US, if anyone knows otherwise do share!)

Such a pretty, creamy, beautiful highlight. This creates that lovely, indetectable glow but in powder form. Honestly? Not going to be for you if you like wham bam highlighters like Champagne Pop, but I love it.

Jouer Glisten Brightening Powder | £20

More of an obvious highlight, this powder is definitely glittery but so finely milled that I still reach for it. Beautiful on the collarbones, I think it's wildly underrated.

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance in Highlight 01 | £27

I love this highlight. No glitter, no real shimmer, just a beautiful, natural sheen, exactly what I want on my face. I have to say this one looks particularly lovely under candlelight so if you're having a romantic night in/out..!

LIPS

Guerlain Lipstick in 202 Mi Mai | £24.50

For a really low key lip, I love the Guerlain Shine Automatiques. For starters, the lidless bullet, I'm not over the novelty packaging! Mi Mai is a gorgeous pale nudey-pink with a gorgeous balmy texture and a subtle sparkle. It wears off beautifully so a great option for a Valentines dinner date.

Aerin Lipstick in 05 Pretty | £26

Pretty by name and pretty by nature, the Aerin Rose Balm lippies are among my very favourites. Pretty is a beautiful rosy pink, matched with it's slightly rosy scent, with a creamy sheen and no sparkle.

Tom Ford Lipstick in 50 So Vain | £38

For something a little darker and more sultry, So Vain is perfect. A plummy hue with gold glitter, if ever there was an excuse to indulge in a little Tom Ford to make you feel special and expensive!

NAILS

Autograph Argan Nail Colour in Marsala | £6

I really love the formula of these polishes. Super slick and creamy, I think giving yourself a proper manicure is a lovely, relaxing way to treat yourself. I like to stick on something funny/geeky on the tv, as well as some candles and go from hand massage to topcoat.
