As soon as I tried this from my Korean Beauty Haul, I knew it needed it's own post asap. If the Kevyn Aucoin highlighting products make you go YES, you'll need this in your life.

The Innisfree Face Designing Duo comes with two shades, the lighter for highlighting, the darker for sculpting, neatly wrapped up into a slim, travel-friendly compact (although there's no mirror). There are 3 shades available, of which I chose 01 Afternoon Delight, the lightest.

Both powders are luxurious and buttery, they blend out effortlessly on the skin. The contour shade is definitely on the warm side (not orange-y), something that I personally love and I tend to use this more as a bronzer/shade-giver than a strict contour, and the highlight is less wham bam and more like a natural sheen, my favourite kind. Neither shade is strongly pigmented, you can't apply too much, and you always end up with a result that looks natural, undetectable as makeup, and blended. I like to use my Real Techniques Setting brush as it's the perfect size for keeping the colours separate.

For longterm readers of Barely There Beauty, you'll know that Kevyn Aucoin's Creamy Glow Sculpting Duo (review) has been my hands down favourite for many months but I've been after a powder version, now that I've been liking to set my face with a translucent powder. You can see from the swatches that the Innisfree compact is exceedingly similar in shade and intensity! There looks like there might be some subtle, golden shimmer within the contour shade but if so, it doesn't translate on the face in any way and you can't detect it in the pan.

I'm totally smitten with this duo, it's a great alternative/accompaniment for my beloved Kevyn Aucoin and a fair bit cheaper too. Innisfree also have individual full-pan compacts of the highlighter and contour colour too, which I'm very tempted to pick up, as well as a mineral, marbled rose blush which sounds divine; which do you think I should trial next?!

Have you tried Innisfree?
