A new year is almost upon us again - it's bonkers how quickly time seems to pass, right?
Before we begin, I just want to say a huge thank you to you, for the love and support I've received over the past year. Barely There Beauty has grown, and me with it, and each comment, kind word or compliment really makes my day. It's madness to contemplate people actually reading my blog and enjoying my Instagram photos etc, I'm so thoroughly appreciative - my readers are the best!
Onto the post, I love reading yearly roundups so I'm sharing 12 of my very favourite and most popular posts with you today, one for each month, so grab a comfy chair and have a catch up with me - for the last time in 2016!
Today's post is the kind I love to read. From eyes to lips, drugstore to pricey, I'm sharing my tiptop makeup favourites of the past year - the tried and true, the long-term favourites, the products I've been reaching for again and again this year. So let's jump in!
These little babies are damnably delicious. A sinful mix of chocolate, sugar, spices, and gooey Nutella, this is the drink I'm reaching for this festive period - I can't get enough of it's spicy, Yuletide kick. So let's forgo any thoughts of healthy eating and get sipping on this divine concoction!
For my second holiday look, I thought I'd veer slightly from the classic, pin up look and red lip that you'll have seen in my Classic Christmas Makeup post and go for something a little different - this is what I'm planning to sport for New Year's Eve! And want to know what my dress and shoes are? I've rarely spoken about fashion so far on BTB (except for my party dress picks for this holiday season here!) but today's post comes complete with my chosen outfit segment too!
I did say I wouldn't be doing a red lip this Christmas...
And I'm technically keeping my word because I've got another look coming up very shortly that's something a little different - but today I'm sticking to just about every Christmas Makeup cliche - a classic red lip and pin up eye #sorrynotsorry!
One of my most commonly asked questions is regarding photography - especially now that we're into the dull depths of Winter and light seems at a premium. I've had so many requests to talk about this subject, so today I'm sharing my favourite tips and tricks to still achieve beautiful photos whatever the weather. Hopefully there's something among them that you can take away!
I've been dying to share today's post with you!
If you've not heard of Troiareuke, they're a Korean brand that's annoyingly difficult to get hold of in the UK, in fact no, outside of Korea. I had a go at it around 6 months ago, failed and forgot about it. New Troiareuke stockists for the western market (meaning we can now get it worldwide yasssss), KBeautyBay, recently got in contact, as if the answer to my woes, asking if I'd like to try some skincare - to which I said YES, I've been dying to for months! So today I'm excited to finally share how I've got on with my picks eek!
At last it's December and Christmas is finally around the corner! I'm here today with my Christmas Gift Guide 2016 - and this year it's super lengthy (honestly, this post took me ages!) covering everything from luxury to affordable, from Dad to Mum to your other half to a few cheeky pieces for yourself? Hopefully you find an idea you've been hunting for!
The festive season is already upon us, and we're already less than 4 weeks away from Christmas can you believe it? The big question for most of us though is - what to wear for those Christmas parties?! So for today's post I've had a good trawl of all the beautiful frocks around to help you out with your clothing quandry - so have a peek and let me know your favourites!
So what do you think guys? Burgundy? Sequins? Velvet? Silk? What are your favourites? I'm still undecided with what I'm going to go for so let me know what you think I should pick too!

Although Autumn is in full swing and burgundies and plums are more the flavour of the season, today I'm showing a little love for pink. Especially as I've been ill lately, there's nothing than a fresh, peppy pink to enliven your complexion and make you look bright and healthy - so keep reading for my favourite makeup items for when you're feeling tired and sick!
PS. Have you entered my Autumn Makeup & Skincare Giveaway? Not too long left!
As much as I was late to the party last year with Black Friday - this year it's game on! Especially in the run up to Christmas, why not make the most of some of the best deals of the year, right? I'm fully prepared, armed with a gift/wishlist and have done my research this time - and I've compiled a list of my favourite deals and offers for you, to spread around the savings!
A good skin and hair day is a surefire way to make me feel better about myself, and I'm sure I speak for
here at Glow Recipe (go check out their brilliantly curated selection) as well as 5 tips I use to hydrate my skin in the colder weather.
I'm sure it's no surprise to you, if you keep up with my skincare posts, that I love Cosrx. Their cleansers, moisturisers, masks, toners and serums I've tried are no fuss and high quality, gentle yet effective, with minimal fillers and unnecessary ingredients (I'm also giving away some Cosrx bits in my Giveaway which you can enter here!). Amazingly enough, I hadn't tried both their BHA Blackhead Power Liquid or AHA Whitehead Power Liquid until Buttermilk Skincare kindly provided me with the opportunity, and I hate to spoil the suspense but I feel completely compelled to write about them - they're fabulous!

I reviewed this in full recently (which you can check out here), and think it's just the most divine palette. 6 eyeshadows, plus a bronzer, highlight and blush, all of the shades are gorgeous, wearable and great quality. I know Rosie For Autograph makeup isn't easily available outside of the UK so I wanted to give the opportunity for those of you elsewhere to get your hands on it!
Although the palette is the focus, I wanted to throw in a few other goodies, in the form of...
C O S R X G A L A C T O M Y C E S S E R U M & A H A B H A T O N E R
These two bottles of wonder are my favourite from the Cosrx line - I've talked about how incredible I find the AHA BHA Toner in this post with Before & After's. It really helps with acne, scarring and pigmentation whilst being the most gentle of formulas, I'm completely in love. The serum has an excellent formula, predominantly made of the same stuff as SKII's Facial Treatment Essence, and bolstered with niacinamide, Vitamin B5 and adenosine. It hydrates, brightens and contributes to anti aging, is suitable for all skin types and is one of my powerhouse favourites.

Reddened brown shades and nudey pinks have been my utter favourites during this autumn and the tone of Chocolate Cakes is just perfection. Blush Melba is a pretty springlike peachy, pastel pink - I adore the formula of the Autograph Argan polishes, they're probably the smoothest polishes I've ever tried.

I reviewed these in this post and fell in love with the liners - they really compete with Stila and Tom Ford, aka my all time, unchallenged favourites. I actually received two packages from Rimmel so, as I love the liners so much, am throwing the second bunch into this giveaway - you'll be receiving the two liquid liners and two mascaras.

This giveaway is international and will run until midnight (GMT) on the 7th December 2016 - just in time for Christmas! At the end of the giveaway, I'll be contacting the winner via email (and social media if applicable) - they then have 48 hours to accept the goodies, otherwise I'll be choosing a secondary winner. As with my previous giveaway, if there are any issues sending the nail polishes overseas, I'll be sending Rosie For Autograph lipsticks in your choice of colours instead!
Thank you again and good luck!

I'm really choosy with lipsticks - I'm desperately fussy with how things feel on my lips and I can't abide a bad formula, meaning I definitely lean towards high end lip products. The only drugstore lipsticks I've deemed worthwhile so far are the Essence Long Lasting lipsticks and Rimmel's The One One, and today we're playing with Rimmel's new launch - the matte counterpart to The Only One range, with nine shades to choose from. I've got all of them to swatch and try on for you so let's see if they stand up to the test!
It's almost been a year, can we believe, since the Rosie For Autograph makeup range launched and I went swatch happy in M&S (refer to this post for the full collection evidence of my swatch party), and I'm still just as utterly enamoured with the range as I was back then. Just in time for Christmas and all that, Rosie's given us a beautiful Eye and Cheek palette, available here, that I ripped open with earnest - read on for swatches and my thoughts!
I've been waiting for this singular bottle of fairy dust for what now feels like eons. You may have already seen me parade it's beauty on my Instagram, and now I'm here to do the same. Introducing the brand new Tom Ford Shimmer Shots, bottled liquid glow available here at John Lewis and Selfridges, or at Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman for those in the US. Read on for more snaps, swatches and more affordable alternatives!
I stumbled across the newly launched Couture Contouring Palette by YSL (available here at Feelunique, Boots, House of Fraser or at Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman for those is the US), a simple compact featuring both a contour and highlight shade, completely on a whim and it was nigh on love at first sight. Keep reading for more pics, you've got to see how beautiful this palette is!
Well hello beauties, the camera is fixed and I am back! (and thank you for your patience whilst I've been AWOL). If you've been with me a while here on BTB, you'll know that I am the harshest critic of mascara and liquid liners, an ardent and devoted supporter of just the one or two of each.
I wanted to give a little explanation as to why I might seem to be posting a little less frequently at the moment! I thought I was being really smart by wrapping the camera strap around my wrist because it's a heavy piece of kit and I didn't want to drop it whilst taking flatlays. Unfortunately, that backfired when I went to get more props and tripped over a cable on the way back.. So I'm currently checked into Heartbreak Hotel whilst I wait for it to be repaired, so apologies for posts being a little thin on the ground at the moment and thank you all for your patience - I'll get things going again as soon as I can!
In the meantime I'll share a few photos from Instagram lately, starting with some beautiful blooms from Blossoming Gifts. If you didn't see my full review, they were generous enough to give me the code BGIFTS33 for 33% off (from which I don't benefit btw!) your choice of beautiful bouquets, I plumped for roses (obviously) and I feel like I need some more, now that it's getting colder and more miserable!
Need to give a mention to my Grown Alchemist lipbalm, which is my new favourite friend - the watermelon scent is like the last piece of summer as the season wanes, and it moisturises my lips exceptionally - they've been chapped, dry and crappy lately and this is doing wonders.
As for posts, I wrote about rebooting your life in September, and even though we're now in October (birthday month eek!), all the tips are still relevant, so you may find it useful! Another set of tips is my 5 Favourite Ways To Feel Prettier - and they're all easy as pie. I'm going to do an updated what's in my makeup bag as soon as I can get some pictures down, but check out the third pic above (or my Insta) for some strong favourites.
To round things up, I want to show some love for Vee's array of beautiful highlighters including the Modern Mercury highlighter *swoon* - go and give her account a follow, so many gorgeous products.
Like I mentioned above, October means birthday for me, and I'm stuck with my wishlist! What makeup and skincare items are you lusting after?? Let me know in the comments below!

My skin is the first place to show signs of stress. I get it all - from dry, flaky patches, eczema, oiliness, blemishes, chapped lips, redness, irritation, you name it. Today I'm sharing some of my go-to tips and favourite products for reviving my unhappy skin back to health.
We're constantly bombarded with glossy images of the 'perfect women' and living up to the standard the media creates can knock our confidence, when we should be feeling pretty every day. Today I'm sharing 5 easy ways to feel prettier in no time at all.
I hinted at a second wave of dupes in Part 1 of my Korean Skincare Dupes, and today it's finally here! I'm really excited to share this post, as finding dupes in makeup and skincare is one of my most favourite past times, and the bunch I have today feel like a pretty good group. So for Kbeauty dupes of some high end, cult favourites, including quite a few that I think are actually better than their pricier counterpart, keep on reading!
January might seem like the most obvious time of year for new resolutions but in practice it's quite possibly the worst! You feel the pressure of 'New Year New Start' and 'ruining' that if you slip up, you're mourning the festivities and comfort of the festive season and you've got a to-do list the length of your arm. I don't know if it's a school thing but I've always felt a natural opportunity to reconvene and reboot in September, so today I'm sharing 6 tips for making the most of the rest of your year.
I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I'm a sucker for high end beauty. But sometimes, the quality doesn't necessarily match the high price tag, so today I'm sharing a handful of my favourites that I think are really worth every penny.
Sometimes, something a little sweet and unnecessarily dainty is just the thing we need. These little cakes are not only delicious but pretty damn healthy too, and will impress at any occasion.
Especially since my floral, rose-spiked Persian Love Cake, I've been really enjoying playing with cake and dessert recipes that are totally scrumptious but promise to be a little healthier for you, so today I wanted to share this recipe, adapted from my Nourish book, that really hits the spot. These cakes are nutty, sweet with fruit and full of nuts and fibre. They're an absolute doddle to whip up, and are gluten and refined-sugar free too!
As much as I adore summer, and I'm already getting sad at the shortening daylight hours, I'm so excited for autumn. I love the light, I love the weather, I love layering, and I love autumnal colours in fashion and makeup. Now that we've hit September, today I'm bringing you 7 beautiful lipsticks, to transition you from summer to fall, for every budget - whether you're looking to splurge, save or spend.

It's a quick post today - I wanted to give a little mention to fashion, as it's something I rarely talk about on the blog! I'm obsessed with blush tones at the moment. It's a colour that will take you from Summer to Fall - a floaty teadress or lacy crop in the warmer weather and a cream knit tucked into a blush leather skirt (isn't the little wrap one below just divine?!) when the temperature starts to drop. Today I'm sharing some nude-pink inspo to quench your blush appetite.
I'm totally in love with the leather wrap skirt, the sporty bra and Jasmine-esque pyjamas!
What are your faves??
P.S Have you seen my new favourite sheet masks???

1. Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue Compact Foundation | I'm so happy that Chanel are releasing some new foundations, as I really didn't think a lot of their Healthy Beiges foundation we had over the summer period. I actually really enjoy powder foundations, if they're good, and I have high hopes for this one as I adore Chanel powder formulas - a lot. It comes in 13 shades, which I think is pretty good going.
2. Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue Liquid Foundation | If matte isn't so much your thing, there's a liquid version that promises to give you the same, flawless coverage and finish you're looking for. This one comes in 16 shades.
3. LOV Iconyx Eyeshadow Palette | This is for those of you on the continent - well, specifically Germany. How much does it look like the Hourglass eyeshadow palettes?! Fortunately for you guys though, this is a drugstore brand, meaning prices are going to be super affordable.
4. Dior Capture Totale Cushion Foundation | Obviously not content with Lancome and YSL bringing out a cushion, Dior have launched their own in the Capture Totale Dreamskin range. Infused with their skincare, and with the obligatory SPF 50+++, this retails at £60 - I'm really intrigued to see if it really warrants that price tag!
5. Kevyn Aucoin Bloodroses Palette | There are a lot of eyeshadow palettes in this edition.. and the first is this gorgeous jewel toned number from Kevyn Aucoin. I love the warm, pinkish theme to the shades and knowing Kevyn Aucoin, the formula is going to be just as sumptuous.
6. Cle De Peau Eye Colour Quad in Stellar Gaze | Not new to the market but these quads from Cle De Peau have been lingering on my wishlist for a little while now and I'm popping them into this edition in case you haven't seen them! Although they come in a number of shades, Stellar Gaze is a gorgeous array of golds and purpley tones that I can't ignore.
7. Charlotte Tilbury Dreamy Look Eyeshadow Palette | I'm always excited when there's something new from Charlotte Tilbury makeup, and the latest is this gorgeous eyeshadow palette containing 4 light, shimmery shades, including both warm and cool tones - that pinky shade in the top left looks ridiculously pretty.
8. Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette | I haven't been that excited about any of the Naked palettes frankly, but this new release seems like a really versatile, basics palette, full of matte shades with varying undertones, and including a couple of gorgeous warm, orangey, burgundy shades so I'm really excited about this one!
9. Diptyque Lip Balm | Diptyque have added a couple of new items to their skincare range, and I'm a sucker for lipbalms, so this immediately caught my eye. Whether it's any good or not, it's hard to resist the fully-instagrammable packaging right?
10. Tom Ford Lip Contour Duo | Love love love the concept of these. Another travel friendly and multifunctional product (I love their double ended correcting pen), these lip products come with a liner/shaper in one end with a creamy lipstick in the other. Available in 8 shades, I can't wait to try Show It Off.
11. Fresh Vitamin Nectar Face Mask | I've seen this doing the rounds on Instagram and I want it! A glucose based face mask chock full of citrus extracts to brighten and exfoliate skin, this is exactly the kind of mask I lust after, so really excited to try this one out.
12. Diptyque Infused Face Oil | Another item from the new additions at Diptyque, this face oil is infused with rose and rose petals, much like the Neogen rose cleanser that I've fallen a little in love with. Rose seems to work really well with my skin, and I can't pretend that I'm not attracted to the aesthetics of this bottle..
Alright I'm stopping there before my list snowballs into a silly length! Let me know, what's on your current wishlist?!

The first collection from new creative director of makeup, Lucia Pica, Chanel's Le Rouge Collection No.1 recently launched in a shower of flame, showcasing 'the many facets' of their iconic red. Another fairly tight and compact collection, I can't wait to share my thoughts, and of course as always, my swatches of the range. Let's hop in!
